Definition: income-restricted housing unit (General Definition)
For the purposes of determining the applicable parking regulations for existing buildings , an “income-restricted housing unit” is a dwelling unit : for which the number of required accessory off-street parking spaces was established pursuant to the provisions of Section 25-25 (Modification of Requirements for Income-Restricted Housing Units, Affordable Independent Residences for Seniors or Other Government-Assisted Dwelling Units) as such Section existed between March 22, 2016 and December 5, 2024; for which the number of required accessory off-street parking spaces was established pursuant to the provisions of Section 25-25 (Modification of Requirements for Income-Restricted Housing Units, Affordable Independent Residences for Seniors or Other Government-Assisted Dwelling Units) as such Section existed between December 15, 1961, and March 22, 2016; or in public housing developments owned by the New York City Housing Authority for which the applicable number of required accessory off-street parking spaces was established pursuant to the zoning regulations in effect between July 20, 1950, and December 15, 1961.
