Mandatory Inclusionary Housing applies to CPC-mapped MIH areas. Developments creating new residential capacity in these areas must include 20-30% permanently affordable housing (or pay into the Affordable Housing Fund in limited cases).
The 4 MIH options
25% of residential floor area permanently affordable, averaging 60% AMI (~$72K for family of 3, 2025).
30% of residential floor area permanently affordable, averaging 80% AMI (~$96K for family of 3, 2025).
20% deep affordability โ averaging 40% AMI (~$48K for family of 3, 2025). Only available in specific mapped areas.
30% averaging 115% AMI workforce option (~$138K). Sunset โ newly mapped MIH areas typically pair this with Option 1 or 2.
