About this school

Our school offers a small, personalized learning community where teachers and students develop trust, respect and high expectations. Our courses are inquiry-based and require our students to develop critical thinking, research and analytical skills. Our four-year Advisory curriculum focuses on socio-emotional skills and development, Restorative Justice, and the knowledge and skills necessary for college. In our Office of College Placement, students work with full-time college and career counselors to explore post-secondary goals and complete college and scholarship applications. Our graduates have succeeded in city, state, and private colleges and are pursuing careers in business, media, social work, education, and technical fields.

Academic opportunities

We are a NY Performance Standards Consortium School! This means that you will NOT take four of the required five New York State Regents standardized exams. Instead, you will design and accomplish deep inquiry projects and defend theses ending in Performance-Based Assessment Tasks (PBATs) in four core subject areas. This is real college preparatory work!

Advisory! Our advisory classes meet four times a week and stay together for four years with the same teacher. You will join a small family group that will help you navigate high school and beyond!
